Juhu Beach Studio
We are Juhu Beach Studio, a textile studio based in Mumbai. We work exclusively with textile waste and with creatives from in around the city to create beautiful, joyful objects with a sense of humor. We dabble in products, costumes, installations and sets inspired by our lives in the city and the small and great, seemingly ordinary and extraordinary things life has to offer. Markets, commute, nature, cool insects and plants, colourful characters and their adventures, etc. We use traditional and modern textile techniques on a wide variety of materials to bring our concepts to life.
About the Event
Craft Picnic
A fun one day craft picnic where we learn new ways of seeing objects, materials and the world around us. It will include a short walk, where we will explore our surroundings, and hunt for interesting objects and textures, followed by a discussion and an idea sharing session and then tinkering with them to transform them into something brand new. Using basic textile techniques such as sewing, embroidery, etc.  we will help you turn the things you find, plus other found materials into a whimsical unexpected accessory or an embellishment that you can take back home with you.
