The duo takes up the melodies of Persian classical and folk music and original compositions as primary material. An immense space for improvised elaboration of tunes brings out a unique play of time and melody warping the audience in its ambient embrace.
The performance captures the essence of Persian and Indian musical traditions.
About the Artists
Saleh Mirsaaedi learned the Persian instrument sehtar, from late ostad Mohammadreza Lotfi and has been playing the instrument for twenty years now. He has been visiting India since 2016 and has demonstrated the sehtar at solo and group concerts in Delhi, Mumbai, Varanasi, Bangalore and Pune. He is currently based in Navi Mumbai near Pandit Pushpraj Koshti to study the Indian sitar with him.
Akshay Jadhav started learning tabla from his father, Shri Ashok Jadhav at the age of 6, after which he received taleem from teachers like Pt Ramswaroop Ratoniya, Sangeeta Agnhitori, and Pt Suresh Talwalkar. He has played alongside artists like Pt Ajay Pohonkar, Vidushi Kalpana Zokarkar, Pt Ram Deshpande as well as in films, with music directors like Salim Suleiman, Vishal Shekhar and Amaal Malik.
