Kheyaal, meaning 'thought process' or 'perspective' encompasses not only the intricacies of musical grammar and technique, but also a detailed understanding of love and life, all of which finally culminates into art.

In this concert, Ronkini will present her own original bandishes which will delve into love and life, and how Hindustani classical music to her is an expression of the same. She will be accompanied by Ashish Ragwani on tabla, and Deepak Marathe on harmonium.

 

About the Artists 

Ronkini Gupta is a trained Hindustani Classical Vocalist who has learnt in under the guidance of Gurus from both Gwalior and Kirana Gharana and has arrived at her own unique style of rendition. She has performed in various prestigious festivals like the Sawai Gandharv in Pune, Maharana Kumbha in Udaipur, HCL concerts Delhi and Bangalore, Udayswar at Prithvi by Pancham Nishad and the Kala Ghoda Arts festival to name a few. Recently she also performed at the NMACC auditorium and presented a set of her own original bandishes.
She has been the winner of Zee Saregamapa 2004 World series and a National Merit Awardee at the Doverlane Music Conference in the year 2000. Recently she won the Swar Kokila Lata Mangeshkar Award-2023 in Delhi.

She will be accompanied by
Ashish Ragwani on the tabla - Awarded with the Veer Durgadas Rathore Yuva Award, Jodhpur Gaurav Award and Taal Seva Shree award, this young maestro has trained with Pt. Mahendra Parihar and Shri Mridangraj ji

Deepak Marathe ji, one of the finest harmonium players in the city. He has accompanied stalwarts like Pt. Jayteerth Mevundi, Hariharan saab, Pankaj Udhas ji, Rakesh Chaurasia ji, to name a few.
