About the Artist

Sveta started learning Hindustani classical music at the age of three from Pandit Jialal Vasant, Shrimati Manik Bhide & Thumris from Dr. Aneeta Sen. She now takes guidance in Purab ang Gayaki Thumri from Smt. Manju Sundaram of Banaras. An Architect graduate from Mumbai University, Sveta chose music as her first love. She is the winner of the All-India Radio prize and has ever since been a performer with them. She was awarded the National Scholarship by the Government of India and been conferred the title "Sur- Mani" by Sur Shringar Mumbai. Sveta is also the recipient of the two-year Guru Shishya Music Scholarship presented by Sajan Milaap. Sveta composed and sang a Thumri for the National award-winning Marathi film Uttarayan Sveta’s album “Sajanwa – Romantic Thumris” was nominated for the Global Indian Music Awards 2011 (GIMA). Her Thumris are featured in the album “The Lost Souls” and “Mudoll” by the famous young composer in London Niraj Chag.

Sveta has performed at prestigious forums in India such as NCPA Mumbai, Nehru Centre, Elephanta Caves Festival Mumbai and has had successful concert tours across USA, UK, Middle East, Australia, and South-East Asia.

She has presented a thematic concert “Krishna Rajani” at the Esplanade Theatre Singapore and at the Mahindra Kabira festival 2023 at Varanasi. Sveta has taught music in India, Indonesia, China, Malaysia and Singapore with various institutions.

She has been part of the faculty of The Foundation Room founded by the Pt. Kartik Kumar Foundation and Shri. Niladri Kumar. Now residing in Singapore, she is the Vocal music faculty at the Temple of Fine Arts Kuala Lumpur Malaysia
