About the artist
Jasjyot Singh Hans’s works for the exhibit center around the idea of longing for a sense of belonging, where the closer you get, the more elusive it seems. His oeuvre chronicles themes of body image, sexuality and self -love.
Jasjyot Singh Hans is a Chicago-based illustrator who’s work is inspired by an explosive neon mix of fashion, music and pop culture. His work has featured in publications such as The New York Times, Bloomberg Businessweek and New Yorker Dispatcher. He has a constant regard for things past and a voracity for all that is current. He studied animation film design at the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad and has an MFA in Illustration Practice from Maryland Institute College of Art, Baltimore.
