Prachee Batra (b. 1993) is a Mumbai-based visual artist. She holds a Master’s in Painting from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, and a Bachelor’s in Fine Arts from Rachana Sansad, Academy of Fine Arts, Mumbai. Her work has focused on the observation of the self with the society. She is drawn to making forms where the physical burden of a figure or the softness of a gesture tells the story of resilience. Her work highlights intimate exchanges where feelings are held in the stillness, and which become vessels for memory and emotion. Batra works primarily in oil, charcoal, and terracotta. She has shown her work at Apre Art House, Mumbai; Edwin Zoller W Gallery, Pennsylvania, USA; Faculty of Fine Arts Gallery, Baroda; Pepper House, Fort Kochi; What about Art?, Mumbai; and Kochi Students ‘Biennale, Fort Kochi.
