About the artwork
“The co-existence of diverse elements, mundane everyday objects and submerged forms are seen surfacing in the artwork Wayward Construct. There are three separate narratives floating in bubbles in a singular galaxy/ sky. The industrial cement mixer seen at every traffic induced road is drawn here amidst a natural hilly terrain in the largest circle. Signifying the churning of thoughts while being submerged in a world that feels underwhelmed by the lack of freedom. It trickles into the submarine helmet, essential for safety but self isolating. Being submerged in churning thoughts and memories of the outer world, natural forms seen outdoor from a different time. The sea turtle gravitating towards light and taking flight towards a golden infinity from deep under the ocean. The golden circle signifies the freedom within infinity, with the mythical bird Simurgh taking flight and creating a dream like infinity space to levitate into. Portrayed in the smallest sphere is the Hom tree which is the home of the Persian mythical bird Simurgh. The tree signifies the source of all life on earth. In the old myth Simurgh flies to the Hom tree and upon shaking its branches creates a shower of seeds that fall to the ground creating fecund land for life to thrive through. It represents a speculation of past stories and the nothingness of a future connected by the present floating of our being, through the mundanity of the cabbage, egg and other forms all carried by the hot air balloon taking flight into that golden infinity. Through the chaos and banality of our uncertain existence, the connection of earth, water and air within each circle, are all that we as beings can be certain to belong too.”
