The genderless fetus on the mirror is used as a symbol to represent the idea that gender is a social construct and not a biological determinant. The image of a fetus without a defined gender, reflected back to the viewer through a mirror, serves to challenge the traditional binary view of gender and encourages individuals to explore their own gender identity outside of societal norms and expectations.
The work also sheds light on body autonomy as one of the fundamental human right to control what happens to one's own body. It further dives into the context of reproductive rights where body autonomy is central to the issue of abortion rights.
