Arvind’s oeuvre primarily revolves around idea of play. For this exhibit, he explores visual abstractions of Home through Chaos Theory and geometry. He reflects on how ‘Home’ can be anywhere, all one must do is believe that it is. The sense of play in his practice results in compositions reflecting the spiritual and physical connectedness to mathematical or geometrical systems.

Chaos theory is a branch of mathematics focused on underlying patterns that are highly sensitive to initial conditions. These collages are series of stripes following different angular rotation to form a specific polygonal form. Since the angular rotation is eyeballed to approximation rather than measured to perfection the final polygonal form is distorted and forms an illusion. The margin of error gets accumulated and it could be seen in the final polygonal form.

Chaos in geometry is a common sighting in a urban situation. We could see corners of buildings being truncated and streets being misaligned from the planned grid. These are viewable human traces in infallible geometry.12
